Join us for our March Club Meeting featuring guest speaker, David Wade. In his talk we'll explore several aspects of making splits. Splitting a hive can be done for a number of reasons, including starting a new colony or for swarm prevention. Learn how and when to make successful splits!

Guest Speaker: David Wade

Dave is a 19-year hobby beekeeper in Sturbridge, MA and a Bristol County Beekeepers Association member.  Dave is a long-time mentor, member, and newly elected board member of the Worcester County Beekeepers Association.  He also is a member of a number of other beekeeping clubs.  Since January 2025 Dave has been giving presentations on providing wax to get bees to build and repair comb.  He has presented in-person all through New England and via Zoom across the U.S.  You can read his wax-adding articles in the June 2025 and April 2026 editions of American Bee Journal.  Watch his 2025 video on Dr. David Tarpy's North Carolina State University YouTube Channel or join the American Beekeepers Federation (ABF) and watch his recorded March 2026 ABF Zoom presentation.  In January 2026 he gave his presentation at the ABF conference in Mobile, AL.  In July 2026 he will be presenting at the Eastern Apicultural Society conference in Kentucky.
